Steps to import Assets from Excel file

You can export information of Assets from your ERP, HRMS or any other program where you already maintain records of Assets. Format it as per Sample file and Import it into SureQR. Here are the detailed steps.

  1. Login SureQR
  2. Import/add employees first if you want to allocate custodian to Assets otherwise you may skip this step for now
  3. Go to List -> Categories and add Categories of Assets first so you can have Category ID in SureQR
  4. Go to List -> Locations and add Location of Asset first so you can have Location ID in SureQR
  5. Go to List-> Assets from the navigation on left
  6. Download Sample file for import
  7. Your Excel file with data of Assets should have column titles matching with those of Sample file. Or you can alternatively use Sample file and fill required information
  8. Enter Category ID in Category column
  9. Enter Location ID in Location column
  10. Enter Emp No. in In Possession Of column if you wank to make employees custodian to assets or you may leave blank
  11. You may leave Status column empty and 1 will be filled automatically for imported records making all Assets In Use. Or enter Status ID in Status Column as below
    Status ID Description
    1 In Use
    2 Disposed of
    3 Stolen
  12. After you have compiled the data, hit Import button on right, press Browse and select your excel file with data
  13. Tick Column Header in Line # 1 if your sheet has titles for the columns
  14. Make sure Skip first 1 lines is not selected if all records being imported do not already exist in SureQR
  15. Make sure Date format is persistent through out the sheet and enter this format carefully
  16. Relevent fields must be selected for every column of your sheet. If there is empty field for a column, select matching field before hitting Import. Columns without field selected on top will not be imported. You can also see how it is going to be imported before hitting Import button
  17. Press Import button
